Fan Appreciation Day: June 5-6, 2010, Metro Toronto Convention Centre

Hey all! Looks like the Thunder Twins (me n' Tory) will be appearing at the Metro Convention Center for Fan Appreciation Day! And to REALLY show you fans appreciation, I'll be offering up commissions for all'a y'all!

So here's how it works: you can order a commission in advance from me and then pick them up at the show! The reason is twofold:

1. This gives me enough time to give you a quality piece of artwork for you to enjoy. From me to you, with a lot of effort in-between!

2. Enjoy the show without any worries! I want you to go meet the guests that don't often come to our fair city. People like Greg Rucka, Tim Bradstreet, Chris Sprouse...and so many more! Swing by my table at any point during the show, and your piece will be ready for you.

Here are the rates for the work:
$70 for a full-figure piece (11"x17")
$20 for a portrait (8"x10")

All images are black and white only

If you're interested, email me at EEK at INKSKRATCH dot COM, and I'll get right on it. I'll announce the cutoff date as we draw closer to it, but I hope you act early!

TCAF 2010: Writeup

It goes without saying that TCAF was an amazing event. I had a great time, Tory had a great time, all the artists I talked with were ecstatic and enthusiastic for next year...just amazing. So here are some quick wrap-ups and thank yous and links and all the rest:

THANK YOU to everyone that came and bought a copy of the Complete Plays of William Shakespeare! I was worried about it's reception, but...I guess the reception was overwhelmingly positive! I'm immensely thrilled about that. It's the first work I've written (or adapted, if you prefer), and I'm really glad people are enjoying the weird things that give me a giggle at home.

THANK YOU to Brian Harvey, Mike Drake, Andrew Wheeler, Derek Halliday, Krystle Tabujara and Parrish Ziganian. Your work on the book made it fantastic. I don't know if you know it, but I'm indebted to you!

THANK YOU to all the artists and creators that I got to trade books with :D I'm honestly thrilled to (a) have something worthwhile to trade, and (b) have so many personalized and kickass books to read! I'm looking at my pile of books right now, and man, I'm really happy!

THANK YOU to Chris Butcher and Peter Birkemoe for TCAF!

And BIG UPS to all the volunteers that came by and helped me with my table. Every exhibitor that helped get me change, buy me some time so that I could use the washroom (which was exactly once over the course of that weekend...it was busy!), brought me food and water, gave me a hug, supported my legs so that I could look as though I was standing...THANK YOU. You are, by far, the best volunteers that I've ever had the oppourtunity to work with at a show, and by god, I'm so, so, so glad that you were there to help me, even though I'm kind of a weird little homebody.

And if you wanna learn more about the event and all the rest, I highly recommend you check these links out:

I've been doing some plotting and planning in the past 24 hours, and I have a feeling that I'm going to be doing a whole lotta work in the upcoming months. So stay tuned! I'll keep you updated.
